The wing is a mechanical invention like the wheel. Like the wheel the wing revolutionized mankind. Flight is a contrary thing. Theory of flight is one thing. The art of flying goes against the theory of flying. Controlling the plane makes you go against your head. The nerve to point your nose down to come out of a stall says it all.

Cirrus SR-22 started my flight training. The King Air 350, with all its systems, intimidated me enough to go through X-Plane 12 flight school. Cirrus SR-22 put me in the air. Lets say, all over the air!

The Cessna Skyhawk felt great to handle. It is easier to handle than the Cirrus plane. Just relaxed and enjoyed flying along the Missouri River towards the mountains. Then I had to land. Oops, again and again!

Drilling to go against theory of the wing to understand the machine you are flying takes muscle memory. Lately other tasks has taken me away from X-Plane 12. Bad habit to have if I want to fly the King Air 350 around the world. Up I go and down I crash.

Angle of attack of the wing is not pointing up or down. The angle of attack is all about flight. This angle is the angle the wing meets the air. The wing keeps the airplane up by pushing the air down. I can be level flying with the nose pointed up. This more about feel of the machine and a bit more experience.
