On the 9th May 1861 the Secretary of the Confederate Navy wrote “I propose to adopt a class of vessel hitherto unknown to naval service.”. James Bulloch was dispatched to Europe to find a place to build such a ship. The CSS Alabama was the result of that action. More history later on.

You want to buy a plastic model kit close to when the molds were made. The parts are crisper and the mold seals tighter. This Revell kit was cast in 1961. It was bought off Ebay for $115. It came in very good condition.

I started this model a year ago. Sickness and gaming has kept me from it. Now the dust has been wiped off and painting resumed.
